How to have a power suit without powering up credit

You’ve heard that saying, dress for the job that you want? What if power suit

If you are interviewing and networking to find a job, here are some wardrobe boosting tips that will keep you from spending your paycheque before you have it.

Versatility

It’s all about quality and not quantity when it comes to assembling a stellar interview ensemble. If you can find it in your budget, investing in a good quality base garment that can be mixed and matched is the way to go. The best bang for your buck? A basic dress or dress pants and good shoes, in neutral colours that can mix and match as you need.

Accessorize

If you can’t afford a new outfit, you can bring an old favourite into the current trends by jazzing it up with some strategic accessories. Costume jewellery is cheap and can be a great focal point in your outfit. Seek out chunky necklaces and earrings. A nice infinity scarf is another way to completely change your outfit.

Borrow

What are BFFs for if not to outfit you for your big interview? See if you can borrow something from friends or family and save the clothing shopping until after you’ve landed the job.

Hair and Makeup

Your clothing is only one part of your outfit. Don’t forget your hair and makeup, which can really make or break the image that you are trying to project. Getting a new lipstick or blush is a very cheap way to update your look. Spending extra time on your hair may give you the confidence you need to land that job.
